Mankind has developed faster than light-speed travel and is preparing our first mission to our nearest star, Proxima Centuri. Even our nearest star with our newest propulsion system will take nearly fourteen months to reach.

Due to the long travel time and incredible g-force the crew will be under throughout the trip, fluid breathing (using a perfluorocarbon) and long-duration hibernation technology are used during the trip.

The main engines swallow huge amounts of energy, which is supplied from the fusion ring. With a crew of 119, landing shuttles, planetary survey satellites, millions of gallons of water for fuel, and four months of provisions for the crew to survey the remote star system and its planets, the ship is incredibly huge - therefore the name, the Leviathan.

The Leviathan Project is a Science Fiction series set in the not too distant future (150 years). It attempts to show what the future of space flight might be like, and what we might actually find, in the most realistic, entertaining (drama, adventure, romance, even scary) way possible. It puts the “science” back in science fiction (and the fun into a science fiction series)!

Each episode of Leviathan will be approximately 15 minutes, with 22 episodes for each season. The first two scripts and outline for the next four are complete. Distribution will be on this website, for free, with brief commercial interruptions, and on pay video services. Trailer from the pilot will be released on the various public video websites. We are shooting and animating in high definition (1920x1080) video and 5.1 sound for three reasons:
  1. It looks and sounds better.
  2. We will sell episode compilations on DVD and Blu-Ray.
  3. We can re-edit at a later time for theatrical movie release.
You can consider the show as sort of a mix between the original "Star Trek", "Babylon 5" and "Stargate SG1" television shows, with a dash of "2001" and "Apollo 13" thrown in.
